of growing up is overwhelming. part excitement, part fear. just the thought of paying bills, a full time job, buying food and gas, and renting a place is crazy. but, its freeing: the thought of being out there in the big world, with such responsibility and the ability to carry it out. wow. how will i not get all puffed up and try to make myself look good (assuming, ahh i can get by better than my own family) i know that right now i struggle with the way my appearance comes off. i hate it when i look bad, and especially when people make me look bad, careless, or stupid. growing up and "making it" would be a great opportunity for me to prove my point...being responsible only to be looked as responsible...but this isnt what Jesus did. you do the math. practically every moment of his ministry was slandered and even his purpose in life was not for himself...he lowered himself, and become the scum of the earth, so that in his death and reliving he saves all who ask him. he never grew up to become "independent" or "self made" just to spite the world around him...no, he became like the world around him...low, taking the blame - even to death.
im not saying that being independent is wrong, just when we want to show up the world and say " i can do what you cant!" - that is hate
